www.dash-player.com – bitmovin Launches bitdash MPEG-DASH Players

bitmovin has launched the official product website www.dash-player.com for the MPEG-DASH player bitdash. The bitdash players enable MPEG-DASH playback on any web browser using either HTML5 as well as Flash, depending on the browser and version, and even on mobile platforms using HTML5. That happens within our player SDK, so that the people using our players do not have to care about that, it simply works everywhere and can be controlled via an unified API. Another key differentiation factor from other DASH-players is that bitdash pays high attention to stability and performance, meaning that bitdash is the player to be the one with the fastest startup delay, best adaption algorithms and thus quality, and of course stability.

Feel free to download a free version on www.dash-player.com and give it a try! And stay tuned, we will release more information about bitdash – the HTML5/Flash MPEG-DASH player – in the following days!

3. it enables scalable and flexible content deployment with content distribution, already leveraged by Content Distribution Networks (CDN)

However, there is still room for improvements as many services are still using HTTP/1.0 which has been specified in May 1996 or are not utilizing all features of HTTP/1.1 such as persistent connections or pipelining. For example …
